WHERE'S THE PARK?

This image (above) shows the full site plan (washout area) with Phase 1 overlayed (colored area) to depict how all of the components of the plan will come together in relation to phase 1.

In the view of the completed park you can see how heavily impacted the site is by wetlands areas. The designers have done a great job of incorporating a large variety of recreational accessories in conjunction with preserving the natural wetlands features of the 225 acre site.
In the future ammenities will be added as the budget permits and there is no timeline for any single item or final completion of the park. The following features will be added (in no particular order):
1. New Police Station. Not a relocation of a current Precinct but an addition to the Police Force. (top left of plan)
2. New Community Center. Modern, flexible design, able to incorporate an indoor swimming pool. (large building at the top left of the plan)
3. 8 volleyball courts. 2 sets of 4 courts each. 1 set near the community center & the second set near the back of the park.
4. 8 basketball courts. 2 sets of 4 courts each. 1 set near the community center & the second set near the back of the park.
5. 4 tennis courts. Placed near the volleyball & basketball courts near the back of the park.
6. 6 horse shoe pits near the volleyball and tennis courts.
7. Dog park boundaries realigned and significantly enlarged to make room for vehicular access to the rear of the park.
8. Additional picnic area with shelters near the tennis courts & horseshoe pits.
9. 5 more multipurpose fields. 1 toward the front of the park and 4 toward the rear of the park.
10. 4 softball fields in a centralized space saving spoke design.
11. significant extenions of the nature trail network.
12. additional maintenance & storage areas for city & athletic co-op use.
13. additional parking at the rear of the park and the Community Center
14. Skate park. Near the front of the park (white area on map near the park entrance just above the multipurpose fields) cement construction, half-pipe type of design.
